Before my holiday to Greece, I wanted to find a cute evening outfit, perfect for those warm summer evenings. I knew exactly what I wanted: an a-line midi skirt and strapless, crop bandeau. I had seen a couple online that I liked, but for one reason or another, namely out of stock, out of my size, too expensive... I just couldn't find what I was looking for. Until the week before I jetted off, on a last minute sales shop, in a last ditch attempt to find my allusive summer outfit! And I found what I was looking for. This Miss Selfridge co-ord midi skirt and Bardot top. But at £60 it was out of my price league.

After trying it on, I absolutely loved the fit and shape of the skirt.

So I set about finding my own version, at a more student-friendly price! The sales were my pot of gold and I got my perfect summer evening outfit for £20.70. A skirt from the Miss Selfridge sale, the same cut and shape as the one I tried on, just in a different print that I actually preferred, and only £18. £40 originally, reduced to £20 in the summer sale, and with student discount, what's not to love?! After dragging Matt round all the shops in Churchill Square looking for a top to match, I gave up and crossed my fingers I would find something online. Simple, plain and complimentary to the busy print of the skirt, I found what I needed in the Missguided sale for £2.70. (£12 originally, reduced to £3 in the sale and with student discount and free delivery). Paired with a pair of heels from to summers ago, I had the summer evening outfit I had created in my mind!
