Dr Blighty Light Show Brighton
At the end of May, for four nights, Brighton Pavilion lit up in memorial of the thousands of men who travelled from India to fight during World War One. Over 2300 soldiers, who left their homes to fight for the Allies, were wounded on the front and brought to Brighton Pavilion where a temporary hospital had been erected.
The light show, part of the 50th Brighton Festival, quite literally stopped traffic with onlookers standing on the road divider to watch the after dark production. From uni students to families and tourists of Brighton, hundreds of people gazed up at the incredible projections on the Royal Pavilion inspired by the letters written and sent home by soldiers.
On the 27th May I was lucky enough to watch the show and was awestruck by the moving display.
